Last week at Finnhub spring meeting we had a chance to visit Port of Gdansk. What a huge development from our last visit 2012! Port of Gdansk handled 40,6 milj. tons in 2017 (2012 was handled 25 milj. tons). In containers Port of Gdansk is on a second place in the Baltic sea with the figure 1,6 milj. TEU (the biggest is St. Petersburg). A huge investments are also coming in the future: Pomeranian Logistics Centre (500 000m2), expansion of quays and the dredging of fairways expansion and upgrade of road and railway network in the Outer Port of Gdansk and the biggest project of the Central Port. Forecast for cargo handling in the Port of Gdansk will be 100 milj. tons in 2030. With this speed – it is more than possible! A special thanks to our hosts in Port of Gdansk Authority and Port of Gdansk Cargo Logistics.
